Wallaces verdankt.
Trotz der sehr unterschiedlichen Bildungs- und Lebenshintergründe der beiden Männer ähneln sich ihre Thesen in verblüffendem Maße, wenn sie auch nicht völlig übereinstimmen. Im ersten Abschnitt soll daher ein Vergleich vorgenommen werden, um zu klären, ob
möglicherweise inhaltliche Unterschiede die ungleiche Behandlung dieser Wissenschaftler begründen können.
Der zweite Abschnitt behandelt die historischen Ereignisse vor und nach der geschichtsträchtigen Verlesung beider Aufsätze vor der Linne´schen Gesellschaft am 01. Juli 1858, die dazu beigetragen haben, daß Wallace als Urheber der Evolutionstheorie in Vergessenheit geriet.
Schließlich soll untersucht werden, welche persönlichen Gründe diese für Wallace so unbefriedigende Entwicklung begünstigten.
